Geely Auto Enters Myanmar Market

Geely brand, ranked the 9th in the Portfolio Brand Value 2020 in the world evaluated by Brand Finance, will enter the Myanmar market and launch new models in partnership with Premier Automotive Limited (PAL), which is the integrated Automotive Corporation as a member of CDSG, one of the biggest conglomerates in Myanmar. Starting in 2020, PAL will open new 3S shops in Yangon and Mandalay to sell vehicles of Geely brand. The partnership will offer the latest Geely technologies, newest generation models, and world-class service to the customer in Myanmar. Together with PAL, Geely Auto aims to become one of top auto brands in the Myanmar market. Geely Auto is a core subsidiary of Geely Holding Group (Geely Holding), a global automotive group with operations spanning the automotive value chain, from research, development and design to production, sales and servicing. We are very proud to be able to partner with such a brand in Myanmar.” The Geely brand’s first model to be available in the local market will be the Geely Coolray. The model will be presented in Myanmar in three trim levels with duel-color body - Comfort, Luxury and Sport at the price start from 30.8 million Kyats. Based on the B-segment Modular Architecture (BMA) platform, jointly developed by Geely in close cooperation with Volvo, the Coolray utilizes a highly efficient 1.5TD engine providing 177hp and 255 N.m of torque with a 0-100km/hour acceleration of up to 7.9 seconds as well as top of its class handling. Inspired by the design concept of “Racing through Space and Time”, the Coolray design is sporty, dynamic and is able to distinguish itself with high-technical functions Automated Parking Assist (APA), Blind Spot Detection (BSD) and 360-degree camera. Equipped with CN95 filter, the Coolray’s body consists of as high as 70% high-strength steel and 20% hot-formed steel, overall making customers be safe, fun and bringing exciting experience in driving. Capital Diamond Star Foundation donated whole-genome sequencing (NGS) machine to Ministry of Health and Sports

Yangon, November 16, 2019 – Capital Diamond Star Foundation, the philanthropic arm of Capital Diamond Star Group (CDSG), donated a next-generation, whole-genome sequencing (NGS) machine to the National Tuberculosis Reference Laboratory, National Tuberculosis Programme, and Department of Public Health, Ministry of Health and Sports, together with New Zealand Embassy, members of the New Zealand Myanmar Chamber of Commerce, and the University of Otago. Current, conventional tools can neither effectively diagnose drug-resistant TB - compounding the drug-resistant TB burden - nor identify how drug-resistant TB is being transmitted. An NGS machine can, on a patient-by-patient basis, provide comprehensive genetic information on the bacteria that causes TB (Mycobacterium tuberculosis) which can be used to identify drug resistance. This in turn supports rapid clinical decision-making and effective diagnosis of drug-resistant TB, ultimately improving treatment outcomes for patients. Additionally, data gathered from NGS can be used to unravel TB transmission patterns, which cannot be achieved with current conventional diagnostics. Myanmar is listed by World Health Organization as having a top fourteen TB burden in the world. TB prevalence is Myanmar is at rate three times higher than the global average and one of the highest in Asia. The National Tuberculosis Reference Laboratory, National Tuberculosis Programme, and Department of Public Health have been working diligently to fight this public-health threat and are constantly working to obtain cutting edge equipment to assist in this fight. The donation event was held at Melia Yangon hotel and was attended by the Minister of Health and Sports and government officials as well as representatives from New Zealand Embassy, the New Zealand Myanmar Chamber of Commerce, the University of Otago, senior management team from CDSG, guests and the media. IBTT holds Grand Opening Ceremony to provide port services for bulk cargoes

Yangon, September 7, 2019- International Bulk Terminal (Thilawa) Co., Ltd. (IBTT) which is a port focusing on the handling of the bulk cargoes (grain, feed, Agri inputs, construction materials and other any possible bulk cargoes) in Thilawa port area, plot 30/31(A), held its grand opening ceremony at Melia Yangon Hotel, and was attended by government officials, ambassadors, guests, and Senior Management team from the shares holding companies. IBTT situated at Plot 30 and 31(A), is further downstream from the Thilawa Special Economic Zone. It has a jetty 230 meters in length, 25 meters in width, with a 11-meter draft, which has a designed capacity to accommodate vessels up to 200 meters LOA and 60,000 DWT (Dead Weight Tonnage). For storage, IBTT boasts a silo capacity of total 40,000 Metric Ton, and a 5,400 square meter warehouse (which roughly equates to about 20,000 Metric Ton for feed material, Soya Bean Meal). Behind IBTT, there is 42 acres of the land in the same plot which has ability to expand more in the future as the demand for bulk trading increases. IBTT is a joint venture between Lluvia Limited (joint venture with Mitsubishi Corporation and Capital Diamond Star Group - CDSG), Kamigumi Co.,Ltd and JOIN Corporation, and provides services for cargo handling such as stevedoring, loading, discharging, storage, bagging, and fumigation for the handling cargoes. Moreover, IBTT will aim to serve the Development of Myanmar’s food industry by providing 24/7 services to our customers. IBTT, which has started operation in May this year, has already completed the discharging of three wheat flour vessels of 20,000~25,000 Metric Ton, with total volume of 70,000 Metric Ton. The discharge of each of these vessels completed within less than 5 days of operation.  IBTT is planning to handle more varieties of bulk cargoes with efficient and higher quality services, to contribute toward Myanmar’s economic growth.
